Our Laser Treatment

Vascular dilations and redness can make the complexion appear uneven and, in the case of rosacea, may even influence the course of the condition. In our private dermatology practice, we gently and precisely remove small vascular changes using the Quadro Star Pro Yellow vascular laser and intense pulsed light (IPL) technology. Deeper vessels and spider veins can be effectively treated with the Nd:YAG laser.

We use the latest technology.

The first yellow tabletop laser in dermatology
The Derma V, with its yellow wavelength of 577 nm, represents the gold standard for vascular treatments such as telangiectasia, couperose, spider naevi, cherry angiomas, venous lakes, port-wine stains, and red spider veins. It allows for fast, effective, and safe treatments with minimal side effects. Due to its lower melanin absorption (compared to 532 nm), it is also suitable for darker skin types.
HOPSL: The latest laser technology
The Derma V features HOPSL technology (High-Power Optically Pumped Semiconductor Laser), a state-of-the-art solid-state system. This innovation makes it possible to achieve a compact, lightweight tabletop design with high performance. Specially developed optics ensure a homogeneous beam profile for safe and precise treatment.

Your questions, our answers

Which vascular changes can be treated?

Das Behandlungsportfolio umfasst:
The Derma V by Lutronic operates with a yellow wavelength of 577 nm. The red blood cells absorb the laser energy and convert it into heat, causing the targeted vessel to coagulate and close while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed. Water and melanin do not absorb yellow light, making the treatment gentle and virtually free of side effects. Even darker skin types can be safely treated.
Since the yellow laser primarily targets hemoglobin, the procedure is relatively painless. You may experience a brief stinging or warming sensation. If discomfort occurs, cooling or short pauses during the treatment help provide relief.
Usually, one session is sufficient. In cases of more pronounced findings, such as a combination of diffuse redness and visible dilated vessels, we recommend two treatments spaced four to six weeks apart. Over time, blood pressure and natural vascular changes may cause new dilations, so follow-up sessions may be needed after one to three years.
The duration depends on the treatment area. Small lesions can be treated in just a few minutes. Larger areas, such as redness on the cheeks, may take up to 30 minutes. A second session may be necessary in some cases.
Immediately afterward, the treated area may appear slightly red and swollen, but this usually subsides quickly with cooling. Gentle, non-irritating makeup can be applied. Occasionally, mild crusting or flaking may occur in the first few days after treatment.
The skin must not be freshly tanned, as increased melanin can absorb laser energy across the surface, potentially causing side effects such as burns. To minimize UV exposure, the autumn and winter months are ideal for laser treatments. However, using daily sun protection remains essential even during this time.
Avoid sports and sauna visits for the first few days following the laser treatment to prevent freshly closed vessels from reopening due to increased blood pressure or reflexive vessel dilation. Because the skin is more sensitive to UV light for about four weeks after treatment, it is essential to use skincare products with a high sun protection factor (SPF 50+), even on cloudy days. Sunbathing and tanning bed use should be avoided, as they can cause unwanted and permanent pigment changes.
