When Skin and Hair Begin to Change – We Take a Closer Look
It usually starts subtly. A line that lingers a little longer after smiling. A parting that looks wider than it used to in the bathroom mirror. A ponytail that no longer feels quite as thick. Skin and hair do not age overnight, but over many years, and that is precisely where the opportunity lies.
With Skin & Hair Longevity, we combine aesthetic dermatology, hair medicine and a long-term approach to skin health at our private practice in Hamburg. Our goal is not to stop ageing. We want to understand which changes concern you, what causes them and how we can actively support your skin and hair health over time.
What Causes Skin and Hair to Age
- Reduced collagen and elastin: The skin loses firmness, and fine lines develop into wrinkles.
- Sun exposure and oxidative stress: UV radiation is the most significant external factor in skin ageing. Free radicals damage cells, fibres and hair follicles.
- Declining cellular energy: When mitochondria become less efficient, less energy is available for repair and renewal.
- Hormonal changes: The hormone DHT (dihydrotestosterone) causes susceptible hair follicles to shrink, while declining oestrogen levels during menopause accelerate collagen breakdown.
- Genetic predisposition: Genetics also influence when hair begins to thin and how pronounced the thinning becomes.

3 Levels of Skin & Hair Longevity in Hamburg
1. Skin Longevity – Preserving Skin Quality
Stimulating Collagen Production
The collagen biostimulators Sculptra, JULÄINE™ and Radiesse stimulate the skin to produce its own collagen. Polynucleotides, exosomes, peptides and PRF are intended to support regeneration at the cellular level. With Seffiline®, processed autologous fat is used to improve skin quality.
Tightening and Renewing the Skin
For different skin concerns, we offer treatments including Genius® RF Microneedling, LaseMD™ and CO2 laser therapy. XERF®, EMFACE® and Endolift® provide additional skin-tightening options, each with different mechanisms of action and recovery times.
Gentle Skin Care
The PRX-T33 peel and its milder alternative, PRX PLUS, revitalise the skin without needles or downtime. For those who wish to combine skin care with relaxation, our aesthetic skin care services include the Weleda Cell-Longevity treatment. And the most effective measure is also the least expensive: daily sun protection.
2. Hair Longevity – Focusing on Hair Follicles and Scalp Health
Regenerative Treatments
With Regenera Activa®, tiny tissue samples are taken from the skin at the back of the scalp, processed and introduced into areas of thinning hair. PRF, PRP, polynucleotides and exosomes are intended to support the hair follicles. Hair fillers and SeffiHair® may also be considered as complementary treatments.
Scalp and Laser Treatments
With LaseMD and KeraFactor®, the laser creates microscopic channels in the scalp, allowing growth factors to penetrate deeper into the tissue. The treatment is complemented by LED light therapy. Our Medical Head Spa cares for the scalp as the foundation for healthy hair. For hereditary hair loss, guideline-based medical treatment remains the foundation of therapy.
3. Longevity from Within – Targeted Support When Clinically Indicated
Hormone Consultation
What we see in the skin and hair often has deeper underlying causes. During our hormone consultations, we assess, for example, the extent to which menopause may be contributing to these changes and discuss individual treatment options, ranging from plant-based to bioidentical hormone therapies.
Regulatory Medicine
Our regulatory medicine approach broadens the focus to include cellular energy and stress regulation, using intermittent hypoxic-hyperoxic training (IHHT), selected infusion therapies and a micronutrient programme based on your laboratory results.
