When Skin and Hair Begin to Change – We Take a Closer Look

It usually starts subtly. A line that lingers a little longer after smiling. A parting that looks wider than it used to in the bathroom mirror. A ponytail that no longer feels quite as thick. Skin and hair do not age overnight, but over many years, and that is precisely where the opportunity lies.

With Skin & Hair Longevity, we combine aesthetic dermatology, hair medicine and a long-term approach to skin health at our private practice in Hamburg. Our goal is not to stop ageing. We want to understand which changes concern you, what causes them and how we can actively support your skin and hair health over time.

What Causes Skin and Hair to Age

We therefore distinguish between changes that are part of the natural ageing process and conditions that can be treated specifically. In cases of new-onset hair loss or suspicious skin changes, a specialist medical assessment is always the first step.

Diagnostics: Understanding Before Taking Action

A good longevity concept does not begin with a list of treatments, but with understanding what your skin and hair actually need.

For Your Hair

During our hair consultations, we combine clinical examination with AI-powered hair analysis. The analysis measures hair density, hair thickness and the ratio of thick to fine hairs. This allows shrinking hair follicles to be identified at an early stage and provides a reliable basis for assessing subsequent treatment results.

For Your Face and Neck

The AURA 3D Imaging System captures the face and neck in three dimensions with a single scan. The analysis reveals pores, pigmentation spots, redness and wrinkles, including early signs of photoageing that are not visible to the naked eye. Because the images are standardised, changes can be compared over time.

For Your Body

We assess skin quality, elasticity and pigmentation. Using the FotoFinder ATBM master, we document your skin with AI-assisted technology, allowing changes to be compared over the years. The same images also form the basis of our skin cancer screening. The technology supports clinical assessment but does not replace it.

Laboratory Testing and Additional Diagnostics

Where there are specific indications, we assess factors including nutrient status and hormonal influences. Additional procedures such as TrichoTest™, BHI, VNS analysis or TeloTest may be discussed depending on the individual clinical question. Their results neither replace a clinical diagnosis nor provide a reliable assessment of biological ageing.

3 Levels of Skin & Hair Longevity in Hamburg

Our treatments complement one another, but not every patient needs all of them. The starting point is always your clinical findings, your goals and a realistic assessment of the potential benefits.

1. Skin Longevity – Preserving Skin Quality

Stimulating Collagen Production

The collagen biostimulators Sculptra, JULÄINE™ and Radiesse stimulate the skin to produce its own collagen. Polynucleotides, exosomes, peptides and PRF are intended to support regeneration at the cellular level. With Seffiline®, processed autologous fat is used to improve skin quality.

Tightening and Renewing the Skin

For different skin concerns, we offer treatments including Genius® RF Microneedling, LaseMD™ and CO2 laser therapy. XERF®, EMFACE® and Endolift® provide additional skin-tightening options, each with different mechanisms of action and recovery times.

Gentle Skin Care

The PRX-T33 peel and its milder alternative, PRX PLUS, revitalise the skin without needles or downtime. For those who wish to combine skin care with relaxation, our aesthetic skin care services include the Weleda Cell-Longevity treatment. And the most effective measure is also the least expensive: daily sun protection.

2. Hair Longevity – Focusing on Hair Follicles and Scalp Health

Thinning hair is not always a sign of normal ageing. Hair loss can have genetic, hormonal or inflammatory causes. That is why our hair therapy services in Hamburg combine diagnostics with different treatment approaches.

Regenerative Treatments

With Regenera Activa®, tiny tissue samples are taken from the skin at the back of the scalp, processed and introduced into areas of thinning hair. PRF, PRP, polynucleotides and exosomes are intended to support the hair follicles. Hair fillers and SeffiHair® may also be considered as complementary treatments.

Scalp and Laser Treatments

With LaseMD and KeraFactor®, the laser creates microscopic channels in the scalp, allowing growth factors to penetrate deeper into the tissue. The treatment is complemented by LED light therapy. Our Medical Head Spa cares for the scalp as the foundation for healthy hair. For hereditary hair loss, guideline-based medical treatment remains the foundation of therapy.

3. Longevity from Within – Targeted Support When Clinically Indicated

Hormone Consultation

What we see in the skin and hair often has deeper underlying causes. During our hormone consultations, we assess, for example, the extent to which menopause may be contributing to these changes and discuss individual treatment options, ranging from plant-based to bioidentical hormone therapies.

Regulatory Medicine

Our regulatory medicine approach broadens the focus to include cellular energy and stress regulation, using intermittent hypoxic-hyperoxic training (IHHT), selected infusion therapies and a micronutrient programme based on your laboratory results.

Frequently Asked Questions About Skin & Hair Longevity in Hamburg

At What Age Does Skin & Hair Longevity Make Sense?

There is no fixed age at which to start. Some people want to take preventive measures early, while others seek advice when they notice their first wrinkles or thinning hair. What matters are your clinical findings and personal goals, not your age.
No. Ageing is a natural process. Some treatments can improve skin quality or delay certain changes. The benefits of sun protection are very well established, while research into newer treatments such as exosomes or microfat is still at an early stage. We openly explain how well each treatment has been studied.
Not quite. Traditional anti-ageing treatments usually focus on the visible signs of skin ageing. Skin & Hair Longevity combines aesthetic dermatology with hair medicine, diagnostics and long-term care, addressing both external and internal factors.
No. If you come to us solely because of hair loss, for example, we focus on identifying its causes and providing appropriate treatment. We only recommend additional treatments if they are relevant to your clinical findings and personal goals.
Daily sun protection is the single most effective measure against premature skin ageing. Getting enough sleep, eating a diet rich in protein and essential nutrients, staying physically active and avoiding smoking also play an important role. However, these measures cannot replace specialist medical treatment for hair loss caused by an underlying medical condition.
That depends on the treatment. Some cosmetic treatments can improve how the skin feels immediately, while collagen-stimulating treatments develop their results over several weeks or months. With hair therapies, it often takes several months before changes become noticeable. That is why we determine appropriate follow-up intervals individually.
