Seffiller® – Use your body’s regenerative powers
With Seffiller®, we treat lost volume, sunken eye areas, and softening facial contours – on an outpatient basis and with a material your body provides itself. From a small amount of autologous fat, we process fine micro-fat that can supplement volume on the spot and, at the same time, trigger regenerative processes in the skin.
Whether Seffiller® matches your goals is something we will decide together after a thorough examination: We will look at your skin texture, assess how pronounced the volume loss is and how stable the tissue is, and clarify whether treatment with autologous fat is sensible for your condition. Arrange an initial consultation appointment at our private practice in Hamburg, and we will discuss what is right for you.

Consultation & Planning
At the beginning, we assess your skin, facial structure, and the existing volume loss. Together, we clarify your wishes, check your suitability for treatment with autologous tissue, and define the areas.
Fat harvesting & processing
Under local anesthesia, we harvest a small amount of fat tissue (about 10–30 ml) from a suitable donor area. According to the SEFFI technique, we process it to create fine, easily injectable micro-fat clusters for the treatment.
Precise injection
Subsequently, we specifically introduce the processed tissue into the defined areas using fine cannulas. In doing so, we follow your facial anatomy and the existing tissue so that the fat is distributed harmoniously.
Aftercare & progress
In the first few days, slight swelling or bruising may occur, which usually subsides quickly. We will coordinate with you personally which aftercare is useful and when we will see you again for a check-up.
How does Seffiller® work?
The science behind it
The regenerative component is primarily due to the stromal vascular fraction (SVF) – a mixture of various cell types of the adipose tissue, including adipose-derived stem and stromal cells (ADSCs), precursor cells of blood vessels, and connective tissue cells. These cells work less by transforming themselves into new tissue than through the messenger substances they release: growth factors and signaling molecules, which are attributed with a stimulating effect on blood circulation, connective tissue, and cell metabolism. In the skin, they are intended to create an environment that favors regenerative processes.
The addition of “superficial” is no coincidence: The SEFFI technique specifically harvests fat from the superficial fat layer, which is comparatively rich in these cells, and avoids mechanical shredding devices. This preserves small, intact tissue clusters – fine enough to be injected precisely, and gentle enough to preserve cell vitality as much as possible. Both are considered favorable for a portion of the tissue to grow permanently in the treated area.
Overview of side effects and contraindications
- Temporary: Swelling, redness, and small bruises at the harvest and treatment site, usually receding within a few days.
- Possible: Sensitivity to pressure or a feeling of tension in the treated areas.
- Rare: Infections, inflammation, hardening, or irregularities in the tissue.
- Procedure-related: A portion of the injected fat is broken down by the body, so the result varies individually, and in individual cases, follow-up treatment may be useful.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Acute infections or inflammatory skin diseases in the harvest or treatment area
- Known coagulation disorders or use of blood-thinning medication (to be clarified on a case-by-case basis)
- Severe general or organ diseases
- Insufficient body fat percentage if there is not enough tissue available for harvesting
- Allergy to local anesthetics
The areas of application
Seffiller® is primarily considered for areas where volume is lost over the years or skin quality declines. Because autologous micro-fat is injected finely and superficially, it is also suitable for delicate areas that are less accessible for classic autologous fat injection.
The areas:
Cheeks & Midface
Supplements volume when cheeks appear flatter, contours become softer, and the expression looks tired.
Eye region
Fine application in the area of sunken eye parts and shadows under the eyes.
Area around the mouth
Treatment of fine lines and diminishing elasticity around the lips.
Skin structure
As a purely regenerative approach, when tissue quality is the priority rather than volume.
Neck & Décolleté
Support for skin quality in regions that show signs of aging early on.
Back of the hands
Supplementing volume when tendons and veins become more prominent and the skin reveals one's age.
Seffiller® in combination with other therapies
BTX
Relaxes expression lines, while Seffiller® addresses volume and skin quality.
Hyaluron
Can specifically supplement volume where an immediate, more defined contour is desired.
Microneedling
Stimulates the skin superficially and thus complements the regenerative approach of Seffiller®.
Chemical Peeling
Improves the superficial skin appearance as a supplement to the treatment from the deep.
Laser treatments
Address surface, pigment, or redness in addition to the volume and regeneration level.
