The compliment from your friends for those little laugh lines may still sound charming, but the frown line on the forehead or the crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes cannot always be talked away.
For frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal forehead wrinkles, the unpopular “crow’s feet” around the eyes, fine lines in the area of the mouth and nose, or the so-called “pebble chin” (or “strawberry wrinkles”) on the chin. The muscles can continue to work after the treatment. However, they contract less intensely, and due to the reduced facial expressions, expression lines smooth out faster.
Not if the medication is used sensibly. Since the treatment not only prevents the deepening of existing wrinkles but also the formation of new ones, it is worthwhile to start the treatment early.
After an analysis of the facial expressions and the wrinkles perceived as bothersome, we inject the powdery medication, dissolved in a buffer solution, into the target muscle using a very fine needle. The injection is barely noticeable. The dosage depends on the contraction strength of the muscle and the depth of the resulting wrinkles; it is carried out in internationally scaled units, which allows for comparability of the injected amount. The treatment price also depends on the number of units. In the first few days after the treatment, the effect is initially not yet visible; the maximum effect occurs after about two weeks.
Before the treatment, one should not take Aspirin or other blood-thinning medication to reduce the risk of bruising. For optimal results, physical exercise must be avoided for at least two days after the treatment, as well as visiting the sauna: heat destroys the active ingredient.

Since the active ingredient is applied with a fine needle, temporary small redness and swelling may occur at the injection site. In rarer cases, small bleedings (hematomas) occur. They subside within a few days and can be concealed with make-up immediately after the treatment. The injection only works at the site of injection. Thus, there is no risk of systemic side effects or widespread paralysis of the musculature. Should the face show unevenness after the treatment, these are easily correctable with small follow-up treatments.
